Carolina Meadows Partners with University of North Carolina’s Program in the Humanities and Human Values
Chapel Hill, NC (PRWEB) October 02, 2014 -- Carolina Meadows, a vibrant, wellness-focused continuing care retirement community, recently expanded its commitment to collaborations related to senior initiatives by establishing a partnership with the UNC Program in the Humanities and Human Values. Through this partnership, Carolina Meadows enables UNC Humanities to continue its efforts to provide engaging and innovative public seminars and lectures about a variety of topics and themes throughout the year.
"We are very excited to be able to partner with UNC Humanities in this endeavor," said Melissa Kass, Carolina Meadows’ vice president of sales and marketing. “Carolina Meadows has had a strong, standing commitment to lifelong learning, and we feel that the humanities have an increasingly critical role in today’s world.”
Carolina Meadows, through its annual financial commitment to UNC Humanities, serves as the sole sponsor of the Adventures in Ideas program, a series of one- or two-day events that explore various topics and themes of contemporary or historical interest. Carolina Meadows will have a presence on the UNC Humanities website (humanities.unc.edu), as well as in publicity materials for fall 2014, spring 2015 and summer 2015.
“As the public face of UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences, it’s the Program in the Humanities and Human Values’ mission to bring scholarship out into the community,” said Max Owre, PhD, associate director of the UNC Program in the Humanities and Human Values. “Working with Carolina Meadows affirms that we have partners outside the walls of academe who value our programming and the humanities in general and can help us fulfill our mission.”
In addition to UNC Humanities, Carolina Meadows has long-standing relationships with a variety of other community organizations, including the Council on Aging, the Department of Social Services, Chatham County Government, Pittsboro’s PACE program and the Area Agency on Aging.
