9th Annual Chance For Life Poker Tournament to Benefit the Spinal Cord Tumor Association February 22, 2014, in Washington, DC
Washington, DC (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Red Peg Marketing announces the 9th Annual Chance for Life poker tournament, wine tasting and silent auction will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the City Tavern Club in Washington, DC. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Spinal Cord Tumor Association.
Chance for Life is Washington’s largest charity poker tournament event. More than 200 players will compete to win the grand prize of a $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. Last year's event alone brought in over $100,000. Since its inception in 2005, Chance for Life has raised nearly 1 million dollars for spinal cord tumor research.
“This event is a life changer. For children with spinal cord tumors and their families, it’s wonderful to see the incredible energy and support from the folks who turn out,” said Jeff Snyder, Chief Inspiration Officer at Inspira Marketing Group, whose daughter Kennedy has a spinal cord tumor. “Spinal cord tumors are incredibly rare and incredibly underfunded. Support for research of spinal tumors is essential to finding a cure. It’s a race against the clock and every second counts. That’s why this event truly is a chance for life.”
The event also features a wine tasting experience with food pairings by Chef RJ Cooper of Rogue 24. Guests will bid on silent auction items featuring exclusive experience packages involving DC celebrity types such as an intimate food and wine tasting for 4 at Béarnaise hosted by Spike Mendelsohn. The evening concludes with an after-party including live music by the Doug Segree Band and DJ Dirty Hands.
