Dickinson Wright PLLC Names Eleven New Members
DETROIT, Mich. (PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce the election of eleven new member attorneys to the firm, effective January 1, 2014.
Michael Arbutina is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Toronto office. He practices primarily in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, including construction liens, shareholder disputes, real estate litigation and debt collection and enforcement. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Mr. Arbutina is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society. He received his B.A. from the University of Toronto and his L.L.B. from the University of Western Ontario.
Todd A. Baxter is a Member in the firm’s Phoenix office. His practice is focused primarily on construction litigation and complex commercial litigation. He represents clients in all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts, including motion practice, discovery and trial. He also represents clients in administrative hearings in actions brought by regulatory agencies and in various alternative dispute resolution forums, including arbitration and mediation. Mr. Baxter is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity. He received his B.A. from the University of South Dakota and his J.D. from Tulane University Law School.
Aimee R. Gibbs is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Ann Arbor office. She focuses her practice in the areas of employment, schools & educational institutions, business & commercial litigation, and intellectual property & trade secrets litigation. She has represented public schools and educational institutions in a range of issues including regulation of student conduct, organizational liability, policy and regulatory issues, and employment matters. She has presented at national conferences on education law issues and published a number of articles in national publications and reference materials for elementary and secondary school administrators and higher education officials. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Washtenaw County Bar Association. Ms. Gibbs received her B.A. from Wittenberg University, her M.S.W. from the University of Michigan, and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
Amy Sabbota Gottlieb is a Member in the firm’s Troy office. She handles a variety of commercial litigation and business disputes before state and federal trial and appellate courts. Her experience includes matters related to banking and financial services, mortgage companies, real estate law, contract law, lien priority disputes, and title insurance. She regularly represents some of the nation’s largest financial institutions including banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, as well as title insurance underwriters. Ms. Gottlieb is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of Illinois, and the State Bar of New York. She received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Thomas D. Isaacs is an attorney in the firm’s Detroit office. He focuses his practice on litigation including commercial & business litigation, automotive litigation, and product liability and personal injury. He has experience representing a diverse lineup of corporations in a variety of commercial litigation cases, including contractual, antitrust, collections and business tort matters. He is routinely responsible for all phases of litigation in commercial cases, including discovery, motion practice, expert witness retention and preparation, and overall case management. He was recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation and was recently appointed as an Oakland County Public Administrator by Attorney General Bill Schuette. Mr. Isaacs received his B.A. from Oakland University and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
Michael J. Lusardi is a Member in Dickinson Wright’s Troy office. He provides counsel to corporations, companies, partnerships and individuals in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, construction and financing of office, retail, industrial, mixed-use and residential projects throughout the United States. He focuses much of his practice specifically on helping clients purchase and sell various types of real estate. He is a member of the state bars of Michigan and Illinois, the American Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. He was named a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers. Mr. Lusardi received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Robin L. Miskell (formerly known as Robin L. De Respino) is an attorney in the firm’s Phoenix office. She practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, taxation and exempt organizations. She has experience in drafting complex trust agreements, gift tax and estate tax returns, creating charitable organizations and administering probate estates. Ms. Miskell is a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Arizona. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas with honors and her J.D. from the University of Texas.
Jennifer L. Newby is a Member in the firm’s Detroit office. She focuses her practice in the areas of commercial & business litigation, class action, and employment litigation. She clerked for the Hon. Victoria A. Roberts and the Hon. Sean F. Cox of the United States District Court. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Metropolitan Bar Association. Ms. Newby received her B.A. from Wayne State University and her J.D. from the Wayne State University Law School.
Scott A. Petz is an attorney in Dickinson Wright’s Detroit office. Mr. Petz focuses his practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation, class and collective actions, labor litigation, consumer protection, and condemnation and land use. Mr. Petz was selected as a Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2013 and also received the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Barristers Section’s 2013 “One to Watch” award. Mr. Petz has presented and published in the eDiscovery area. Mr. Petz is a member of the American Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Eastern District of Michigan Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Petz received his B.A. from Kalamazoo College, cum laude, and his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, magna cum laude.
Rosanna J. Willis is an attorney in Dickinson Wright’s Troy office. Her practice focuses on transactional and regulatory matters for physicians, group practices, hospitals and other healthcare suppliers and providers. Her specialty practice area includes for example advice regarding compliance with HIPAA and other patient privacy laws, and Federal and state fraud and abuse laws such as the Federal Stark Law and the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute. In addition, she assists with forming and maintaining effective compliance programs, group practice corporate matters (including governing documents and buy-in/buy-out strategies), and structuring physician/hospital relationships. Ms. Willis is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Saginaw County Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Health Care Compliance Association. She is a Certified Healthcare Compliance Officer. She has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers. She received her B.B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University and her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.
Rachel L. Wolock is a Member in the firm’s Detroit office. She focuses her practice in the areas of banking & financial services, bankruptcy & restructuring, and real estate workouts & foreclosures. She serves as counsel to lenders in a range of loan transactions including single-bank middle market credit facilities, multibank credit facilities, asset-based credit facilities, participations, and intercreditor agreements. Ms. Wolock is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan. She has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers.
