Concerned about the direction, or lack thereof, that his love life is taking, a popular young detective decides he has to make a go of a new relationship, make an effort to commit to someone. He now has a steady girl, and word rapidly gets around that this inveterate playboy is off the market—for now, anyway. But is this girl his soul mate? Will this one go the way of all his other relationships?
“Immortal Longings” (published by Xlibris AU), written by Erin Eldridge, was conceived as a gentle love story. It tells the story of John Ryan, a talented young detective with the Seattle Police who is searching for his soul mate and finds her in Maria Carmody, the only daughter of one of Seattle’s richest families. She is twenty, half Italian, daydreams about being a writer and works at The Telegraph.
From very diverse backgrounds, almost immediately, John and Maria’s love for each other confronts challenges that test them sorely. Will they be strong enough to overcome their differences and the tribulations with which life presents them?
“Immortal Longings” has everything: love, passion, drama, humour, happiness and grief, humanity and compassion, and most importantly, forgiveness. Eldridge also wanted to convey the idea of dimensions in life that are beyond rational explanation, the mysterious and spiritual side of existence.
