(PRWEB) September 02, 2014 -- A 22-year-old fourth year, bright and witty Information and Media Studies student looks forward to a promising career as a radio announcer. She yearns for people to ‘see her first’ and not her purple sports wheelchair or the Dynavox Speech Synthesizer that she uses to cover up her speech impediment. She dreams of her best friend but will she find him and keep him for good?
“Kayla’s Dream” (published by Xlibris) by author Theresa Hudson is a feel-good romance novel that tells the story of Kayla Grisholm, a tenacious young woman who will stop at nothing to get to her dreams. She learned early in life that she could choose to be a victim or a victor and she strives to be the latter.
Kayla has cerebral palsy and a severe speech impediment. She is madly in love with Jerome Carter, her best friend but he does not know it and for some reason, he does not see her for who she really is. A near drowning experience, a near-death emergency surgery and a crushing event in Punta Cana are about all that she can take in her last year of university. It is a year of love, fun, passion, joy and heartache.
“Kayla’s Dream” is intended for young adults, families and friends of persons who are challenged with a chronic neurological illness as well as anyone who loves a great reading. Kayla represents many young people who are challenged with a physical or speech dysfunction and want to be accepted for who they are. This book shows the world that determination goes a long way in life. It will give hope, love and joy for young lovers.
