Girl Scouts of Central Texas Honors Distinguished Women of Killeen, Temple and Waco
Temple, TX (PRWEB) April 14, 2014 -- Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) honored Eartha Bason, Marianne Stringfellow, Marie Aycock, Seleese Thompson-Mann, and Stephanie Turnham as 2014 Girl Scouts Women of Distinction. These women have distinguished themselves as outstanding members of their community through individual excellence and high levels of achievement. They have been involved in many areas, such as business, education, government, volunteerism, health care, sports, multicultural activities, and of course, Girl Scouting. The honorees are women who have become role models for GSCTX’s membership, girls and adults alike. They are living examples that hard work and perseverance can lead to great achievements. They raised families, nurtured full-time careers and still were able to dedicate hours upon hours to volunteering to various organizations that resonated with their values and bettered the quality of life of those around them.
Scott & White Healthcare was honored as Distinguished Workplace for Women for its continuous support and encouragement of women’s leadership and professional development and success. In 1906, Scott & White Healthcare employed the first female anesthesiologist in the United States, Dr. Claudia Potter, thus beginning their commitment to women’s professional development.
