LearnToProgram Media Launches Education Video Network
Vernon, CT (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- LearnToProgram Media today announced the launch of a video network that provides educational program for people who want to learn web, mobile and game development. The channel, available on Roku, Apple TV and Youtube, can be viewed on any smart television, mobile device, tablet and laptop computer.
The channel is launching with two programs – Dev and QuickBytes. Dev is a news-and-reviews program geared toward aspiring software developers, and QuickBytes is a program that offers tutorials that teach software development skills. Also in production is Code Café, a program that will teach programming basics to beginners. The programs will be complemented by a selection of tutorials designed to teach the basics of computer programming.
“We have had more than 100,000 students enroll in our online courses, so we know the appetite to learn how to program is there,” said Mark Lassoff, president of LearnToProgram Media. “The number of households using a streaming media device has doubled since 2011 and we expect to see that climb in the future. People want the convenience of one device to read their news, watch their favorite shows and master a skill.”
The channel was created in partnership with MEA Mobile, a New Haven software development company, and CTNext, Connecticut’s innovation ecosystem, which provided funding through the former voucher program (now the Entrepreneur Innovation Awards).
“In today’s digital age, we continue to see demand grow for talented programmers,” said Lassoff. “Our technical online and now video network training modules and tutorials can help provide students with the tools and resources they need to master the skill of coding, which may help them to change careers, get a deeper understanding of coding, or add a talent to their resume that will make them an attractive hire in the future.”
“Mark and his team were able to take a nominal amount of funding and turn it into a new sales and distribution channel for his product,” said Deb Santy, director of CTNext. “The goal of the program was to help propel a company to the next level, which is exactly what LearnToProgram Media accomplished. This advancement will allow a new audience the opportunity to learn valuable career skills through a video network.”
