Spectrum Gaming Group & Dickinson Wright Announce the Inaugural Mid-America Gaming Congress
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- Spectrum Gaming Group and Dickinson Wright PLLC will host the inaugural Mid-America Gaming Congress, April 8-9, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus in Columbus, Ohio. Attendees will include state legislators, gaming regulators, tribal and commercial gaming operators, and Internet gaming experts from around the world.
The Mid-America Gaming Congress will address the critical issues facing the gaming industry in the Midwestern United States. The Congress kicks off with a welcome reception on the evening of April 8, which is open to all speakers and registered attendees of the conference. The following day, industry experts will explore topics such as:
• Competition: What is happening with gaming expansion and how will it play out? Where is there saturation and where is there opportunity?
• Internet Gaming: What can be learned from jurisdictions where Internet gaming is currently legal? What can be expected in the short term and in the long term?
• Exploring Other Gaming Options: What are the various forms of non-casino, non-lottery gambling and other for-money games that are available to states? Where are the success stories – and the failures?
• Regulatory: As states crave more gaming revenue, are regulations and regulators becoming more relaxed? To what extent is there – or should there be – cooperation among regulators in different states?
• Wall Street: Which Mid-America gaming markets have the best near-term outlooks? Which gaming operators are best positioned for growth?
“The Midwest and surrounding areas have grown significantly as a gaming region. That growth prompts a number of related questions and issues that need to be discussed within a forum of experts who fully understand the challenges and opportunities in this critical region,” said Michael Pollock, managing director of Spectrum Gaming Group. “We are proud to help provide such a forum.”
“The dynamics of the mid-American gaming market have substantively changed with the expansion of gaming in Ohio and the increasing focus on Internet gaming in mid-American states,” said Robert Stocker, member and gaming practice leader, Dickinson Wright PLLC. “Initiation of commercial gaming in states such as Kentucky and Tennessee and the expansion of commercial gaming in other mid-American states is the subject of much speculation.”
Stocker went on to say that, “With its focus on speakers living and operating in the mid-American gaming market, the conference will zero in on the opportunities and the challenges specific to mid-America form the perspective of investors, operators, suppliers, regulators and regulatory counsel.”
The Mid-America Gaming Congress is a must-attend event for corporate executives, gaming operators, elected officials, regulators, vendors, developers, investors, analysts, and anyone else who is – or wishes to be – involved in the future of gaming in the growing mid-western market. The Congress provides outstanding opportunities for networking, professional development and business-to-business discussions.
