NAPW honors Brenda Schubach Kiehnau as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business and humanitarianism. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“The key to my success is my courage to succeed against all odds,” says Brenda Schubach Kiehnau.
Ms. Schubach Kiehnau began her career in criminal justice, working with children and families affected by poverty and domestic violence. The desperate circumstances faced by most of the children took a toll on Ms. Schubach Kiehnau, and eventually, she left the field. ‘With an odd twist of fate I left what I loved doing because the pain ran too deep within my soul,” she says. “…I moved to what I knew best, which was visual merchandising and design.”
Although she has gone on to enjoy a very successful career in design, engineering and marketing, winning many awards and accolades, Ms. Schubach Kiehnau has realized that “helping those in abusive circumstances is my life’s calling.” Now, as Executive Director of I am a Force4Good™, she is working to empower women around the world by offering them fair and equal opportunities. The organization houses two humanitarian brands: OrganicSelf® and myCourage™.
Recently, Ms. Schubach Kiehnau added best-selling Author to her many undertakings with the publication of Breaking Through: The World's Leading Entrepreneurs and Professionals Share Their Insights for Achieving Breakthrough Success! She co-wrote the book with other leading experts from around the world and contributed a chapter titled “No Boundaries.” The book immediately reached best-seller status in Amazon.com categories and Ms. Schubach Kiehnau is being recognized by The National Academy of Best Selling Authors™ for her accomplishment.
Ms. Schubach Kiehnau plans to continue her quest to positively empower women and offer them opportunities to build sustainable futures. “I have mixed my life’s work with my heart’s desire to give back in a compassionate and sustainable way,” she says.
