“I use my listening skills during counseling and it has proven that much can be accomplished through active listening,” says Ms. Henry. An expert in all facets of family therapy, Ms. Henry has developed a considerable background in residential, preventative and foster care settings with the ability to efficiently manage youth, family outreach, advocacy, preventive and recovery programs. Her seasoned knowledge has been the driving force behind the growth and development of KARE Family and Children Services since June 2013. “I am a detailed person who ensures that assigned tasks are completed,” she says.
As Director of KARE Family and Children Services, Ms. Henry administers to the needs of the facility’s students with her well-honed listening skills and fosters a productive environment with her close attention to task administration. She provides hands-on supervision of the facility’s case managers and line staff and effectively communicates with outside contract agencies. Most importantly, Ms. Henry uses her administrative position to secure the safety of each student while instilling positive changes in the lives of others.
Among her many professional achievements, Ms. Henry considers her greatest accomplishment to be the pursuit of her doctoral degree in social work, which she plans to use to expand into an even more fulfilling career. “My longtime goal is to become an educator,” she says.
