NAPW honors Megan Davis Lightman as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in organizational development with this prestigious distinction. As the largest organization of women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
“My career choice was definitely influenced by my upbringing,” says Ms. Lightman. “We regularly participated in family council meetings that took place in the boardroom of my father’s company. From decisions about resume building to summer jobs, that’s where the decisions were made!”
Those childhood experiences have served her well. Today, Ms. Lightman is a successful organizational development consultant, highly skilled in strategic planning; board leadership development, governance and decision-making; management and leadership evolution; business communication; conflict resolution; team development and executive coaching.
In 1995, Ms. Lightman founded The Davis Consulting Group in Chicago, IL and relocated the company’s headquarters to Tucson, AZ in 2002. She and her team of industry experts work with CEOs, boards of directors and leadership teams across the country. Together, they create innovative and strategic corporate visions and missions and help company leaders develop and implement strategic plans that yield results.
From those family board room meetings, Ms. Lightman learned that everyone’s opinion matters. She realizes employees, investors and shareholders alike will be more likely to support decisions they are a part of. To that end, Ms. Lightman encourages as much participation as possible from all interested parties.
Among the many awards and accomplishments Ms. Lighman has garnered, "helping my clients achieve their goals," is one she values most. Expanding her business on a global level so she may assist even more corporate leaders, is her latest goal.
