Based on a recent survey conducted via the CCRA Travel Agent Blog, travel professionals are planning to grow their businesses by hiring new staff, increasing their use of social media, and traveling as a means of learning more about the destinations they sell.

Travel agents who participated in CCRA’s December “Wednesday Rewards” Contest were asked to submit their responses to the following survey question, “What’s your New Year’s Resolution for making your travel business more successful in 2014?” Based on the agent submissions, CCRA shares the top three New Year’s Resolutions that travel pro’s conveyed for 2014:
     1.     Hiring Additional Staff
     2.     Using Social Media
     3. Traveling

These top ranked New Year’s Resolutions suggest that in 2014 travel professionals are planning to grow their businesses by hiring new staff and employees, to use social media more to build their brand and increase their online presence, and to enhance their travel planning and destination expertise by taking more personal or agent familiarization trips. Other travel agent contest submissions described plans to build more relationships with local businesses through community networking, enhance agency websites, use client testimonials in marketing efforts, and set aside more time to call previous clients.
