Hodges of MRPR, CPAs and Advisors, located in Southfield, Michigan, and a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) State and Local Tax Task Force, was awarded the Association’s Thomas M. Hoatlin Award on September 30, 2014.
Throughout Sam's many years of service on the MICPA State & Local Tax Task Force, including his time as chairman, his experience in industry and as a professional in public practice provided unique insight into working with the Michigan Department of Treasury and truly advanced the relationship between the Department and the MICPA.
The award is named in honor of Michigan’s first Single Business Tax Administrator and Revenue Commissioner, Thomas Hoatlin, who cultivated a positive relationship between the Michigan Department of Treasury and the MICPA. The award recognizes a MICPA State & Local Tax Task Force member that most significantly contributes to the lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between the MICPA and the Department.
