NAPW honors Lorraine R. Dunnington as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in arts and crafts with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
“Everything that I design is created to empower women to feel beautiful, supported and heard. I'm fortunate that I get to do this every single day!” says Ms. Dunnington. A master of all things vintage, fashion, French and shabby chic, Ms. Dunnington brings together all the forces of her charming imagination to create one-of-a-kind jewelry, accessories and graphic art creations through her online business Lorraine’s Oo La La.
To strike the perfect balance of modern sass and classic elegance, Ms. Dunnington looks to vintage couture art pieces for inspiration and draws on French, Victorian, Art Deco and Edwardian themes to create her intricate masterpieces. She also works to accommodate all her customers’ individual tastes by creating customized special orders that feature their favorite designers, artists and inspirations. Most importantly, Ms. Dunnington works to ensure that each of the products she creates embodies the feminine grace and time-honored sophistication that inspire women to both look and feel their best.
Ms. Dunnington is an active supporter of breast cancer charities and helps customers support other women in need by generously donating 10% of Lorraine's Oo La La proceeds to the breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen for the Cure. “I am planning on creating a nonprofit in my community from the proceeds of my business in order to provide hats, scarves and support for women fighting breast cancer,” she says.
NAPW provides an exclusive, highly advanced networking forum to successful women executives, professionals and entrepreneurs where they can aspire, connect, learn and achieve.
