USA Water Ski Foundation Brings Historic Exhibit to Surf Expo
POLK CITY, Fla. (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- The USA Water Ski Foundation is bringing the history of towed water sports to life this week at Surf Expo in Orlando, Fla. A traveling exhibit from the Water Ski Museum & Hall of Fame will be located on the concourse adjacent to registration.
For the next three days, industry vendors, participants and attendees at Surf Expo can take a look back through time at the colorful history of water skiing and towed water sports. Come see where it all began and how far we have come with the evolution of new technologies, engineering and materials.
Using the Water Ski Museum’s archival collections, the exhibit features historical photographs and objects such as the very first water skis, towropes, the evolution of bindings, a historical timeline, wakeboards and much more. It’s a perfect year for this historic exhibit to debut at Surf Expo as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of USA Water Ski, the sport’s national governing body.
“We are proud to care for the world’s largest water ski and towed water sports collection and it’s wonderful to be able to bring this exhibit to Surf Expo,” said USA Water Ski Foundation Executive Director Tracy Mattes. “The Surf Expo team does an amazing job and it’s been a pleasure working with them to develop this exhibit for all the Surf Expo participants to enjoy and perhaps learn a bit of history.”
The exhibit will be on display at the 2014 Surf Expo, which takes place in the Orange County Convention Center through Saturday, Sept. 6.
