Q1Group Reminds Seniors That the 2014 Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Plan Annual Open Enrollment Period Ends on December 7th
Saint Augustine, FL (PRWEB) December 06, 2013 -- Q1Group reminds seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries that the 2014 annual Open Enrollment Period ends on Saturday, December 7, 2013. During the 2014 Open Enrollment Period or AEP, seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries can join, change or drop their Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan. Any 2014 Medicare plan changes made by midnight, December 7th will take effect on January 1st, 2014.
After the December 7th AEP deadline, most people will only have a limited opportunity to change their 2014 Medicare plan coverage before next year’s 2015 Open Enrollment Period.
Medicare beneficiaries who still wish to get an overview of their 2014 Medicare plan options, can use the Q1Medicare.com Medicare Advantage plan finder (MA-Finder.com) and Medicare Part D prescription drug plan finder (PDP-Finder.com) tools.
“With so little time left in this year’s annual Open Enrollment Period, we suggest that anyone having difficulties making their 2014 Medicare plan decision should telephone Medicare at 1-800-633-4227 and ask a Medicare representative to help them evaluate their 2014 Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plan options,” notes Dr. Susan Johnson, Technical Director of the Q1Medicare.com site and co-founder of Q1Group LLC. “Medicare representatives are available 24 hours a day and can enroll an eligible Medicare beneficiary into any available Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plan directly over the telephone.”
If a Medicare beneficiary is satisfied with their current 2013 Medicare plan coverage, and understands how their plan is changing in 2014, they do not need to take any action during the 2014 Open Enrollment Period and they will be automatically re-enrolled into their Medicare plan for another year.
Seniors are reminded that their 2014 Medicare plan coverage could include changes in monthly premiums, deductibles, cost-sharing, network providers, and other plan features. Seniors can use the Q1Medicare.com 2014 PDP-Compare or MA-Compare tools to provide them with a quick overview of how their Medicare Part D plan or Medicare Advantage plan is changing in 2014 or they can contact their Medicare plan for more information on 2014 coverage changes.
Seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries currently enrolled in a non-renewing or discontinued 2013 Medicare plan can join a new 2014 Medicare plan during the Open Enrollment Period or they will be granted a Special Enrollment Period so they can join a 2014 Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage plan from December 8th through February 28, 2014. If a Medicare beneficiary wants Medicare Part D prescription drug or Medicare Advantage plan coverage staring January 1, 2014, then they must enroll in a plan by December 31, 2013.
