Webinar: How to Automatically Create and Provision New SharePoint Site Collections Uniformly
Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) September 04, 2014 -- Imagine a tool that makes it possible for every new SharePoint site collection to be created and provisioned just the way you want it, every time, automatically.
On Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. EDT, PremierPoint Solutions will host a webinar that showcases a SharePoint self-service site collection creation tool which does just that, and which is available at no cost.
The webinar, “Introducing a Free Solution for Automating the SharePoint Site Collection Creation Process,” will explain and demonstrate how the SharePoint add-on, Site Provisioning and Governance Assistant (SPGA) Free Edition, helps organizations that need to have site collections created on an ongoing basis save time, money and stress—while maintaining uniformity and compliance with company policies and standards.
The webinar hosts are Randy Moody, customer service manager for PremierPoint Solutions, and Aaron Wood, manager of commercial software engineering and support.
Wood has more than 12 years of experience in information technology, including SharePoint administration, SharePoint development, Microsoft SQL database administration, Windows Server and Linux administration, network administration, C# ASP.NET development, user support, training and project management.
SPGA allows users to create and provision unlimited SharePoint site collections automatically, with all the capabilities and limits the administrator has specified. It works with SharePoint 2010 and 2013, both Foundation and Server editions.
While manually creating SharePoint site collections is an option, the process can be labor-intensive and tie up valuable IT resources, resulting in a backlog of site collections waiting to be approved and provisioned.
The other alternative – letting users create their own site collections – usually results in no clear standards or consistency.
“By automating the site collection creation process, SPGA enables administrators to ensure that each site collection is created and configured without variation, automatically, according to pre-determined settings,” Wood said.
With SGPA, the administrator simply “loads” all the appropriate site functionality, settings, security and limitations into “Site Request Profiles.” Uniformity, governance and company standards are strictly enforced, enabling administrators to just "set it and forget it."
Users then select the appropriate profile for the kind of site collection they need and initiate the automatic approval and site collection creation process.
