SOA patterns provide enterprises with structure and clarity—helping to link SOA and business requirements effectively and efficiently.

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns provide enterprises with structure and clarity—helping to link SOA and business requirements effectively and efficiently. WSO2 will present a webinar series on how IT professionals can support today’s SOA patterns using tools from the WSO2 platform. The five webinars will run September 16 – October 21, 2014. For an overview of the series, visit http://wso2.com/landing/soa-patterns-webinar-series-2014.

September 16: SOA Pattern – File Gateway

This webinar will examine the file gateway pattern, associated patterns and practices, including service loose coupling, data format transformation and service abstraction. It also will discuss how to achieve these patterns using WSO2 technologies and components. Additionally, the session will dive into operational challenges and pattern solutions when shifting from batch logic to real-time logic.

Jointly presenting the webinar will be Mifan Careem, WSO2 director of solution architecture, and Jason Catlin, WSO2 senior software engineer, who both focus on enterprise solutions development. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, September 16, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. Visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/09/soa-pattern-file-gateway to learn more.

September 23: SOA Pattern – Event-Driven Messaging

This webinar will examine how the event-driven architecture for messaging allows external entities to establish communication channels to the main entity as subscribers for its events. It will begin by exploring event-driven messaging concepts and the key advantages of this pattern. It then will review event publisher-subscriber and push-pull communication models. Additionally, the session will demonstrate a sample solution utilizing WSO2 platform components.

Co-presenting the webinar will be Dakshitha Ratnayake, WSO2 associate technical lead, and Chathura Kulasinghe, WSO2 software engineer, who both work on the WSO2 solution architecture and technical sales team. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, September 23, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. For more information, visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/09/soa-pattern-event-driven-messaging.

September 30: SOA Pattern – Compensating Service Transaction

This webinar will examine different strategies for compensating service transactions, recovering systems to original abstract states, and guaranteeing systems integrity. It also will explain how to handle synchronous and asynchronous service scenarios. Additionally, the session will discuss a solutions approach for achieving business integrity across stateful and stateless transactional workflows. Finally, the webinar will explore practical use of the Try-Confirm/Cancel (TCC) protocol for REST services-based systems.

Jointly presenting the webinar will be Nuwan Bandara, WSO2 senior technical lead, and Nipun Suwandaratna, WSO2 senior software engineer, who both focus on enterprise solutions development. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, September 30, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. Visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/09/soa-pattern-compensating-service-transaction to learn more.

October 7: SOA Pattern – Asynchronous Queuing

This webinar will begin by reviewing how asynchronous messaging can effectively facilitate communications between different applications or systems. It then will dive into the challenges and benefits of asynchronous messaging. The session also will explore how WSO2 products can support asynchronous messaging to provide a robust, responsive and highly available IT ecosystem.

Co-presenting the webinar will be Senaka Fernando, WSO2 architect on the WSO2 solution architecture team, and Dinesh Lakmal Kodithuwakku, WSO2 software engineer, who both specialize in enterprise solutions development. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, October 7, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. For more information, visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/10/soa-pattern-asynchronous-queuing.

October 14: SOA Pattern – Policy Centralization

This webinar will explore the importance of managing policies centrally in order to avoid redundancy issues and inconsistencies with services. It will examine how the policy centralization pattern promotes policy reuse and sharing among several services. The session also will discuss the importance of centralized policy governance and best practices for implementing the policy centralization pattern using the WSO2 middleware stack.

Jointly presenting the webinar will be Suresh Attanayaka, WSO2 senior software engineer, and Umesha Gunasighe, WSO2 software engineer, who both work on the WSO2 technical sales team. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, October 14, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. Visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/10/soa-pattern-policy-centralization to learn more.

October 21: SOA Pattern – Legacy Wrapper

This webinar will examine how legacy wrappers can help integrate legacy systems with the rest of an application ecosystem, providing necessary data in the correct format with appropriate security constraints. It will explore how IT professionals can create a legacy wrapper using WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) and WSO2 Data Services Server. The session also will demonstrate how to rapidly implement a legacy wrapper using these WSO2 products.

Co-presenting the webinar will be Chintana Wilamuna, WSO2 architect, and Nadeesha Gamage, WSO2 senior software engineer, who both work on the WSO2 solution architecture team. The one-hour webinar will be held Tuesday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT. For more information, visit http://wso2.com/library/webinars/2014/10/soa-pattern-legacy-wrapper.
