First Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year ®, Louisa Long Jaffe, CEO of TAPE, Named by NaVOBA and JP Morgan Chase

The Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year® is an expansion of NaVOBA’s prestigious Vetrepreneur of the Year award® program, which honors only the finest role models the veteran-owned business movement has to offer.
The Woman Vetrepreneur of the Year® award honors veterans who have utilized their military experience and training to establish successful entrepreneurial pursuits ranging from small businesses to large, multimillion-dollar operations.
TAPE, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is a $25 million company with 200 employees. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2013, the company employs 55 veterans, which is about 30 percent of its entire employee population. The company works with government agencies and its core competencies include management solutions; modeling, simulation, and training; research, development, and testing; and IT and cyber security.

For more than 12 years, Ms. Long Jaffe worked for the Secretary of the Army Public Affairs Office, providing support for the Army Materiel Command; the U.S. Readiness Command; TRADOC; the Army CIO; and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence. In addition, she also held the position of media spokesperson for the Army Senior Leadership and as a reservist. She eventually gained over 30 years of experience in business ownership and management, public relations, marketing and information technology.
