Marlene Glass, LNHA CALA Joins Lester Senior Housing Community as New Administrator
Whippany, N.J. (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- Making the move into the non-profit arena in February, Marlene Glass, LNHA CALA has become the new administrator of the Lester Senior Housing Community in Whippany, N.J. The licensed nursing home administrator and certified assisted living administrator brings years of experience in a variety of health care settings to the upscale senior community. Lester Senior Housing is owned and managed by the Jewish Community Housing Corporation of Metropolitan New Jersey] (JCHC), a non-profit organization that operates four senior residences in Morris and Essex counties.
“I felt the joy and happiness among the residents here right away,” said Glass. “They are looking to the future and are engaged in life. This is the environment I want to be in.” She said that she’d been searching for a position with a non-profit organization specifically because “I felt there is more of a mission in the work, especially with the JCHC.”
Glass, a resident of Rockland County, N.Y., has a long-term background in health care that includes opening and running several medical practices, supervising programs for the developmentally disabled, and managing a community health care center. She most recently managed nursing homes in New Jersey. Glass said that policies and procedures, quality assurance and performance improvement among the staff are very important aspects of management to her; she hopes to build on the foundation created by the JCHC and continue to develop staff and implement best practices for the betterment of residents’ lives.
A strong advocate for the senior population, Glass noted that “Doing what’s best for our residents is always top priority. I enjoy interacting with them and respect what the JCHC is doing for older adults.”
