2015 Military Friendly ® Employers List Announced
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 10, 2014 -- The 2015 list of Military Friendly® Employers was released today by Victory Media on MilitaryFriendly.com, citing annual hiring of more than 155,000 post-9/11 service members, a 35% increase over last year. The list of Military Friendly® Employers distinguishes those companies with the strongest job opportunities, hiring practices and retention programs for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment.
This year’s list of Military Friendly® Employers is led by #1-ranked Combined Insurance Company of America, a perennial top performer with more than 40% of its recent hires representing veterans or military spouses. “Being named the #1 Military Friendly® Employer is a tremendous privilege, and we are honored to be recognized for our initiatives,” said Brad Bennett, Senior Vice President, ACE Group, and President, Combined Insurance. “But more importantly, not only does it mean we are doing things right, it also means we are doing the right things to help our nation’s veterans find meaningful employment.”
This year’s Military Friendly® Employers represent more than 180 companies with revenues greater than $500MM from a diverse group of industries ranging from retail to energy to manufacturing and telecommunications. Their commonality is a dedication to recruiting military talent and offering best-in-class programs to support military employees. All 2015 Military Friendly® Employers will be featured in the December edition of G.I. Jobs® magazine, the premier, free, post-military employment resource for service members. G.I. Jobs® is distributed monthly to bases and transition centers worldwide.
“Our Military Friendly® Employers list, now in its 12th year, constitutes those companies consistently hiring from the military community and offering leading programs to support service members and spouses,” said Sean Collins, Vice President for Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran. “Our 2015 Military Friendly® Employers reported hiring more than 155,000 service members and spouses over the last 12 months, an increase of more than 35 percent over last year. This isn’t a new hiring pledge─it’s an update of ongoing hiring activities from the leaders in post-military employment.”
Military Friendly® Employer survey results were independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media. Companies fiercely compete each year to earn the Military Friendly® moniker, which gives them an advantage in recruiting highly coveted military-trained talent. Each year, companies taking the survey are held to a higher standard than the previous year via improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an Advisory Board of leaders in the military recruitment community. A list of board members can be found at MilitaryFriendly.com/board.
