G.I. Jobs Releases New Features on School Matchmaker Tool
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 10, 2014 -- In response to tremendous adoption by prospective military students Victory Media, originator of the Military Friendly® group of education and career resources for veterans and their families, announced the release of several key new features as well as more than 200 additional schools on the Schools Matchmaker tool on GIJobs.com. The online Schools Matchmaker, launched in September, now enables student veterans and prospective military students to review more than 4,300 schools approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition benefits, as well as the subset of schools that have earned the elite Military Friendly® Schools designation. New features include key benefit and financial information for military students such as tuition costs and rates for Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) as well as the ability to search schools by areas of study.
“We heard from prospective military students that understanding how their benefits translate for things like BAH are a key factor in selecting a school,” said Sean Collins, Vice President at Victory Media and a nine-year Navy veteran. “We’re pleased to roll out new functionality that enhances prospective military students ability to make informed decisions with their hard-earned, and taxpayer backed, benefits.”
The free, mobile-optimized Schools Matchmaker allows prospective military students to create a customized list of schools based on their unique preferences such as degree type, areas of study and student reviews. With one click, prospective students can view schools that meet their individual search criteria, as well as a short sub-list of qualifying schools designated as Military Friendly®. Schools in the Matchmaker tool have the option to include information just for military students, including student veteran and alumni “success profiles” and live student reviews.
In its sixth consecutive year, the Military Friendly® Schools list is the only resource based on a complimentary and rigorous quantitative assessment that measures schools on criteria created by Victory Media with the assistance of an independent Academic Advisory Board, and graded by an automated research suite. A complete description of our methodology, advisory board and complimentary services is available at MilitaryFriendly.com/FAQ. G.I. Jobs® is the primary resource for service members and veterans seeking education and employment opportunities.
Free tools like the new Schools Matchmaker on GIJobs.com are used by hundreds of thousands of members of the military community each year.
