National Association of Professional Women Announces Darlena Chadwick, VP/CEO of the Queens Medical Center/D. Chadwick Consulting, Inc., as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- NAPW honors Darlena Chadwick as a 2013/2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in healthcare with this prestigious distinction. “My daughter was diagnosed with cancer and I observed the nurse’s compassion, professionalism, and dedication to treating this terrible disease,” says Ms. Chadwick. “I wanted to be a part of the nursing profession and contribute to a vision of a cancer-free world.”
A United States Air Force Veteran, Ms. Chadwick has been involved in the healthcare industry since 1999. Throughout her highly successful career, she has focused on providing quality patient care, facilitating cancer research and overseeing business development and operations for a number of hospitals and healthcare facilities in the state of Hawaii.
“My biggest accomplishment was successfully opening the Cancer Center at the Queen’s Medical Center. This represented the first integrated delivery system for cancer in the community,” she says. Currently VP of patient care at the Center, Ms. Chadwick is also president and CEO of D. Chadwick Consulting and is under contract at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center Consortium as COO of the Hawaii Cancer Consortium. She is the President of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Hawaii Chapter.
Ms. Chadwick was instrumental in obtaining the elite designation from the National Cancer Institute for the Queens Medical Center, a facility that has had an indelible impact on the survivorship of cancer patients in the community. Using her outstanding leadership and administrative skills, and her unwavering commitment to help facilitate advances in cancer treatment and research, Ms. Chadwick will continue to work diligently at organizations she belongs to and for the healthcare industry at large.
