NAPW honors Sandra M. Payton, O.D., as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is being recognized for leadership in optometry with this prestigious distinction. After graduating from college, Dr. Payton went on to attend the New England College of Optometry, where, after four years, she obtained her Doctorate of Optometry. She eventually established her business where she offers complete vision and eye care services.
As an optometrist, Dr. Payton provides each patient with the specialized care they need. The many expert eye care procedures she performs include eye exams; treating conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism; prescribing and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses; providing low-vision aids and vision therapy; diagnosing eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and conjunctivitis; prescribing certain medications for eye conditions and participating in pre-or post-operative care for patients requiring eye surgery.
Dr. Payton continues to keep pace with the exciting challenges that accompany the evolution of optometry care and looks forward to growing her business in the future.
