NAPW honors Beth Epperson as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership with this prestigious distinction. As the largest, most-recognized organization of women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 400 Local Chapters.
“My role is divided into two distinct functions: quality assurance manager and change control manager,” said Ms. Epperson. “I apply logic skills, SDLC processes, diagnostic processes within the QA management function and I utilize my leadership, management, project management and logistical skills in both functional areas.”
Ms. Epperson, who holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and an M.B.A., says she easily transitioned from software development to quality assurance and honed those skills as a manager at Netscape and AOL. Her exceptional skill set also includes planning, process, follow through and analysis, which have helped her to excel in the role of change management manager.
“The parent organization decided that it was time to consolidate all 70+ business units under a single change management model. Our business unit, Credco, is the change model being adopted and expanded to cover all business units,” she says. “That has been such an inspiration and acknowledgement of my skills and abilities.”
Inspired professionally and personally by her brother and former manager Jim Hamerly, Ms. Epperson’s work ethic, perseverance and integrity make her a role model to staff and colleagues alike. With an eye to the future, Ms. Epperson continues to educate herself and stay abreast of the latest industry changes. “I look forward to continuing to lead change throughout the organization. I know many people feel anxious or fearful of change. I on the other hand embrace change - I find it exciting and refreshing,” she says.
