This team, that is loaded with talent, ended up 4th in the NL East with a record of 73-89. The year was so bad the Phillies fired Charlie Manual and ended up bring on Ryne Sandberg as the manager. Sandberg went 20-22 in his first 42 games and he was officially named manager of the team in September.
In 2014, Sandberg will be given the reigns of this team. In all reality, it is one of the most talented teams in the National League but "Ryno" will have to work his magic to clean up the bad play. If the Phillies finish .500 in the NL East it is unlikely they will make the playoffs. The Braves will be better this year and they are expected to win the division.

Even though the Philadelphia Phillies had a lackluster year in 2013 they still ended up with the 4th highest attendance in the National League. Citizens Bank Park is one of the newer stadiums and the fans love the technological advances that make a game easier to consume. The 43,651 seat Citizens Bank Park officially opened in 2004. In terms of MLB baseball stadiums this is very young. Many MLB teams are playing in parks that are not only years old but decades old. Heck, Wrigley Field in Chicago has been around for a century. Unlike some of the older parks, Citizens Bank Park has all the amenities. The best in big screen TVs, jumbotrons and surround sound audio. If the Phillies can get the ball rolling in 2014 this is a stadium that will sell out night in and night out.
