Hawaii Conference on Brain Based Approach to Education and Lifestyle this Weekend
Honolulu, Hawaii (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Body & Brain Centers of Hawaii will host a Brain Education Conference Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu. Presented in conjunction with International Brain Education Association (IBREA) and Power Brain Education (PBE) the event is offered as they “envision a world where each individual reaches their full potential through greater understanding and proper use of their brain.” The conference is from 12:30 - 4:00 p.m., (with additional Expo time before and after the conference).
Ulalia Woodside will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the conference which will feature Keynote Speaker, David Beal, Program Director and Head National Trainer for Power Brain Education, who will speak on Brain Education and facilitate the Brain Education experience.
Guest Speakers, Isabel Pastor, Program Manager at IBREA, will share Brain Education successes and results from around the world, and Dr. James R. Westphal, M.D, a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry with the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine and the Psychiatry Chief of the Adult Mental Health Division, Department of Health, State of Hawaii will offer insight.
The event’s brain-based forum will offer a first-hand experience of Brain Education activities and exercises, as taught by creator and founder, Ilchi Lee and encourages attendees to change the way they see their lives. With a goal of increasing connections between school and community, the conference will demonstrate the connection between Brain Education and the five pillars of a Sustainable Society, namely; Schools, Family and Character Building, Mental Health, Workplace Wellness/Health, and Nutrition. Simple and effective actions for mindful living and creating a sustainable society will be shared throughout the event.
IBREA has begun fundraising to assist Hawaii communities in locating a school for the Brain Education pilot project. In conjunction with Body & Brain Centers of Hawaii, the BE program has been implemented in after school classes and summer programs in elementary through middle schools for both public and private institutions in Hawaii. Brain Education Program Director, Dave Beal explains, “We teach a combination of mind-body physical activity, mindfulness training and neuroplasticity exercises designed to help teachers improve student focus, creativity, confidence and emotional wellness."
The Brain Education Conference will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 12:30-4pm at the Hawai’i Convention Center, 1801 Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815. Tickets are $20 and each includes one free guest attendance.
For people interested in an in depth experience of Brain Education, a special Brain Education Workshop will be held on Sunday May 3rd, 2015, 9am – 5pm at the Honolulu Body & Brain Center, 401 Kamakee Street #317 HNL HI 96814.
