Angela Horton named Personal Lines Underwriter for regional property/casualty insurance carrier Mutual Benefit Group

Angela “Angie” Horton, CISR, CPIW, CPIA, joined Mutual Benefit Group as a personal lines underwriter on December 8, 2014.

In this position, Angie reviews insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements, and consults with agents regarding acceptability of risk.

Angie began her insurance career in 1982 as a marketing underwriter at ECM Insurance Group, Everett, Pennsylvania. After 26 years at ECM, she became an Agency Producer for Evergreen Insurance, Inc., Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, where she gained experience from the agency perspective. Following this, she joined Bedford Grange Mutual, Bedford, Pennsylvania, where she served a dual role as both a Marketing Representative for the Company as well as Agency Manager of the in-house agency, The Fortress Insurance Agency. She then returned to the agency side of the business as a producer for Kingsley Blasco Insurance, Inc., Newville, Pennsylvania, before joining Mutual Benefit Group.

She studied at both Penn State Altoona and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she was an education major. Angie’s insurance accreditations include being a Licensed Pennsylvania Property and Casualty Insurance Agent, a Certified Insurance Sales Representative, and a Certified Professional Insurance Woman. She holds the Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation, has been a chartered member of the International Association of Insurance Professionals since 1988, and is a graduate of the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2011.
