"I can't stop creating these awesome mashups!"

Saloote” was featured on NewsWatch as part of its monthly AppWatch, which features the latest and coolest mobile applications on the iOS, Android, and Windows markets. Andrew Tropeano, a mobile technology expert and host of NewsWatch, conducted the app review and shared with viewers how this is an application for users to create musical mashups.

Saloote offers the first interactive platform where people can connect on a purely music level by creating mash-ups with other artists. To use it, all users have to do is search through their library of songs to find one that they want to record a cover of.

Then, right there in the app, the user records the song with their particular talent: whether it’s the guitar, keyboards, drums or singing. Once they’re done recording, they can browse through other users' videos to find the other instruments or vocals of the song that they recorded. They can then combine their recordings with other users’ songs and the app will do all the syncing to create a “virtual band”. The songs can then be uploaded to the app or shared on other social platforms. The library has only 15 songs right now but they have a partnership with Sony for 100 artists, adding 3 new songs per week. Saloote is currently available for free on iOS devices.
