SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Coming to Sunny Isles Beach
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida (PRWEB) December 31, 2014 -- In an effort to reach more seniors and answer their Medicare questions, the SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) organization will present an Information Series About Medicare in Sunny Isles Beach over the next three months. The seminars kick off on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 6pm – 8pm at Pelican Community Park (18115 North Bay Road).
SHINE program is offered by the Department of Elder Affairs, in partnership with the Alliance for Aging. The SHINE Program provides Medicare information and free, unbiased, and confidential counseling assistance to Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers. The presentation will include information about both the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) and the Special Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) programs for seniors. Individuals will learn if they are eligible for the programs, and may then make a follow-up appointment with the SHINE representative to receive free counseling and to complete the application process.
Additional seminars will take place as follows:
- January 27, 10am – Noon (Medicare)
- February 11, 6pm – 8pm (HMO)
- February 24, 10am – Noon (HMO)
- March 11, 6pm – 8pm (Prescription Drug Plans)
- March 24, 10am – Noon (Prescription Drug Plans)
All seminars are held at Pelican Community Park, 18115 North Bay Road, Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160.
