Bulletins list prime contractors looking for construction contractors that are small business, minority/woman-owned business, veteran-owned, and provide project info and contact details.

A new daily subcontract opportunities service launches January 2. The economical service, SBSubOpps, advertises projects for small businesses in the construction industry.

The nationwide service delivers daily bulletins averaging fifty potential subcontracts for companies in the construction industry, with values ranging as large as $4-8 million. The subscription fee is only $47 a year.

The projects are federally funded. Consequently, the prime contractor must identify and bid with small businesses that can provide the services needed to build and repair roads, infrastructure, schools and office buildings, airports, parks and other local/state facilities. The primes are required to subcontract portions of the work to small, MBE, WBE, DBE, veteran-owned and HUBZone-based firms.

The trades covered include paving, striping, plumbing, HVAC, wells, landscaping and grounds, excavation, concrete, masonry, painting, wallpapering, steel erection, roofing, flooring, demolition, glazing, lighting and electrical.
