Acer Inc. today revealed its Acer H7550ST, a powerful projector that delivers brilliant Full HD visuals and 20W stereo audio with short-throw and wireless versatility. It’s the world’s first projector to provide internal Chromecast wireless dongle compatibility. The Acer H7550ST will be on display at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! Event on Jan. 5th at The Mirage in Las Vegas.

“Our newest home entertainment projector is one of our best yet,” said Simon Hwang, Acer Stationary Computing and Display Business Group. “Leading short throw technology increases flexibility in placement options, while a wireless adapter makes transferring and projecting data easier and more convenient than ever. Home cinema enthusiasts will be thrilled with the Full HD visuals combined with dynamic 20W stereo audio with built-in DTS Sound that make movies and games breathtakingly lifelike.”

The new Acer H7550ST projects clear and wide images of up to 100 inches diagonally from as little as 4.9 feet (1.5M) from the screen thanks to short-throw technology, a high 3,000 lumens brightness and a native 16:9 aspect ratio. Due to its ability to project a large picture from a short distance, it’s perfect for consumers who will be using the projector from the comfort of home for enjoying movies, games and karaoke, even within smaller rooms. It’s also a great option for educators for projecting lessons in the classroom.

For added convenience, a hidden adapter enables data to be transferred and projected wirelessly from a smartphone, PC or Chromebook leveraging user’s own Chromecast,(1) an Acer MWA3 MHL dongle or Acer WirelessHD,(1) which delivers 60Hz Full HD 3D movies without having to change settings when used with a HDMI cable connected to a media player. The unique hidden design of the adapter furthers data security, while maintaining the projector’s clean look and feel and reducing the possibility of it being lost.

Two built-in 10W speakers provide powerful sound, eliminating the need for external speakers. Deepening the audio impact, built-in DTS Sound increases loudness without escalating distortion, while improving bass performance and vocal clarity. In addition, Acer True Harmony, a customized equalizer, fine-tunes and optimizes the frequency balance to deepen the impact of movies, games and music with enhanced bass and multidimensional sound.

The H7550ST can also stream audio to a wireless Bluetooth headset, sound bar or speaker for additional listening options. Plus, two audio ports extend the ability to attach additional speakers for a powerful surround sound experience.

Acer Colorsafe II provides realistic visuals with its ability to reduce brightness decay and color shift to ensure long lasting color fidelity compared to other technology. In addition, Acer ColorBoost3D leverages an optimized 6-segment color wheel, powerful image processing and advanced lamp illumination to deliver true-to-life colors beyond RGB. Furthermore, with 2D-3D conversion and HDMI 3D ready, customers can instantly enjoy seamless 144Hz 24p 3D movies through two pairs of 3D goggles with family.

Boasting a 16,000:1 contrast ratio and native Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution, the Acer H7550ST projects clear, vibrant images to a large screen, even indoors during daylight. Dynamic Black technology creates excellent image contrast via lamp power adjustment that analyzes content frame by frame. It fine-tunes dark scenes to optimal black levels, while maintaining brightness, resulting in high image quality.
