i2i Systems Selected by Kentucky Health Center Network to Improve Population Health Through Analytics
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 05, 2015 -- Kentucky Health Center Network selected i2i Systems, a leading Population Health Management and Analytics provider to help improve health outcomes across the state, the company announced today.
The KHCN and its members will be implementing i2i Systems’ PopIQ software to aggregate de-identified patient data across multiple organizations, which allows for comparative analysis among the organizations and clinic sites. The information will help KHCN identify promising and best practices that could be replicated in other health centers. It also allows users to generate reports and dashboards across a virtually unlimited number of measures and indicators.
“As the healthcare landscape continues to change, we must evolve to more sophisticated systems to manage data and reporting,” said Jennifer NeSmith, chief executive officer at KHCN. “i2i Systems’ software will enable us to track aggregate data and demonstrate what we’ve known for years: that Community Health Centers provide higher quality, lower cost services to Kentucky’s most vulnerable populations.”
According to NeSmith, Kentucky’s Community Health Centers utilize eight different Electronic Health Records (EHRs). “EHR use by KHCN members increases the effectiveness and quality of the services delivered to their patients,” said NeSmith. “It also provides a powerful opportunity to utilize shared analytics to best leverage aggregate health data for improvement of patient care outcomes and pay-for-performance initiatives.”
PopIQ automatically extracts data in real time from disparate EHRs and other systems, standardizes it and aggregates the data into performance measure sets for trending and mining of clinical quality measures across organizations and sites. “The normalization that PopIQ provides is invaluable and demonstrates the system interoperability needed per the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s 10-Year Vision to Achieve an Interoperable Health IT Infrastructure,” NeSmith continued.
KHCN plans to fully deploy PopIQ in each of its member Health Center organizations, with information provided from their 161 patient care sites. The project has an expected completion date of May 2015.
“We are proud to enable passionate organizations such as the KHCN to do an even better job at caring for their patients,” said Janice Nicholson, president and chief executive of i2i Systems. “By effectively tracking and analyzing data, our solutions help organizations increase revenue and improve patient outcomes.”
