Texas E-Filing Mandate Expands to 17 New Counties
Irving, Texas (PRWEB) January 05, 2015 -- On January 1, 2015, the Texas e-Filing mandate expanded to reach 17 new counties with a population of 100,000 to 199,999. Courts throughout the state have been preparing for the expansion, which will continue through July 2016, but so have law firms that do business with the courts. For the Underwood Law Firm, based in Amarillo, TX with offices in Fort Worth, Lubbock, Hereford and Pampa, the expansion is a welcome change as e-Filing has been part of the way they do business for nearly 12 years.
“It is hard to find many law firms that have been e-Filing longer than the Underwood Law Firm,” said Mel Yarbrough, CEO of File & ServeXpress. “Firms that had the foresight to begin e-Filing early on gained a competitive advantage over the years, implementing efficiencies for their clients that weren’t possible for firms that were not e-Filing.”
The Underwood Law Firm was one of the first law firms in the state to adopt e-Filing, beginning with CaseFileXpress which was the first e-Filing provider with the TexasOnline statewide project in 2003.
“E-Filing in Texas has not been easy, but over the years that I have been involved with File & ServeXpress (CaseFileXpress) they have never ceased to amaze me; they are true trailblazers,” said Rhonda J. Brashears, CP, TBLS, Board Certified Paralegal at Underwood Law Firm. Rhonda also serves as the Chair of the On-Line CLE Committee of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. “No matter what issue came up, they found a solution for it. I have faith in this company and am excited about what their product will continue to do for our firm and for e-Filing in Texas.”
In conjunction with the Texas e-Filing mandate, The Underwood Law Firm, which has 80 registered filers across its five offices, has partnered with File & ServeXpress for all of its e-Filing needs to take advantage of the latest features available in File & ServeXpress’ all-in-one e-Filing solution. As a result, The Underwood Law Firm can easily manage the life of its cases and focus on providing excellent legal service to clients.
“The complete interface through File & ServeXpress is wonderful,” said Brashears. “One of my favorite features is the ability to set preferences for receipt of filings on behalf of multiple attorneys. This is a key feature that saves me time and helps me organize the workload per attorney, per project.”
