Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. Announces Pilot Scholarship Program to Encourage the Pursuit of Degrees in Business and Entrepreneurship
Kalamazoo, MI (PRWEB) January 07, 2015 -- Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. announced today that it has created a pilot scholarship program to award two, one thousand dollar scholarships to qualified graduating seniors who intend to pursue a degree in business, business management, or entrepreneurship. The company has selected Lake Michigan Catholic High School in Saint Joseph, Michigan and Hackett Catholic Prep located in Kalamazoo, Michigan as initial participants in the program. One scholarship will be awarded to a qualified graduating senior at each school.
Lake Michigan Mailers is a leading provider of document management, mail assembly, mail processing, presorting, data management, digital marketing and distribution services to companies, schools, colleges and universities, health care providers, governmental entities and organizations throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia.
The scholarship is available an outstanding male or female graduating senior who plans to attend a four-year college or university to major in business, business management, or entrepreneurship. The successful applicant must satisfy the following requirements: A cumulative G.P.A. of not less than 3.5 (non-weighted) as verified by the high school; Meaningful involvement in community service; Meaningful involvement in school-based extracurricular activities.
“It is our sincere hope that this scholarship program will provide those with a passion for the art and science of business, business management, and entrepreneurship with the support they need to pursue their dreams,” said David C. Rhoa, president of Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc. “While there is often a great deal of verbal support from the business community encouraging young people to formally pursue a degree in business or entrepreneurship, we have found that direct financial support is often lacking. We wanted to make an effort to change that paradigm,” said Rhoa. “We selected Lake Michigan Catholic High School and Hackett Catholic Prep as our initial participating schools due to our long-term relationship with both institutions. We have worked with the students, faculty, and staff from both schools extensively over the years. Both schools have demonstrated a comprehensive engagement with their students and parents that will help us measure the efficacy of our scholarship program,” Rhoa continued. “If the pilot program proves successful at these two schools, we would hope to expand the offering to other schools in our region,” Rhoa concluded.
The scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2015. Students and parents from both schools are encouraged to contact their school’s guidance office for more information regarding this scholarship opportunity.
