Qustodio Collaborates with Qualcomm to Enable Family Safe Smart Gateway
Las Vegas, Nevada (PRWEB) January 08, 2015 -- Qustodio, the Barcelona cloud based security vendor, today announced its collaboration with Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, to deliver a new cloud-powered smart residential gateway solution known as FamilyGuard.
FamilyGuard delivers true Internet safety and device management for today’s connected home. To provide for a richer consumer experience in the home, FamilyGuard is fully integrated with the new class of smart gateway products based upon the Qualcomm® Internet Processor (IPQ), which adds important network capabilities to support more connected devices, systems, applications and things.
FamilyGuard is a relevant addition to carriers’ consumer offerings. It helps original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) differentiate their products with a deck of unique, integrated, on-router safety and device management features. FamilyGuard helps resolve the increasingly common Internet safety and device management issues faced by families in a multi-device, connected world.
By combining Qustodio’s award-winning cloud based Internet safety and device usage monitoring technologies with the processing power of IPQ, and the intelligence of Qualcomm® StreamBoost™ technology, the solution offers unique and relevant device management services for the connected home directly from the smart gateway.
“We are excited to continue our collaboration with Qualcomm Atheros. FamilyGuard on smart gateways with IPQ offers a unique out-of-the-box solution which adds great value to the consumer and makes the difficult task of device management in the connected home seamless and simple,” said Eduardo Cruz, chief executive officer of Qustodio. “For the first time, parents can now set different access and content permissions for each device directly from the router.”
“FamilyGuard exemplifies the innovative services that are possible on smart gateways powered by the Qualcomm Internet Processor,” said Pete Tao, staff product manager, Qualcomm Atheros. “The next generation parental control service not only helps safeguard children in our increasingly connected homes, but also makes it easier for parents to manage all of their connected devices. It leverages both Qualcomm Atheros and Qustodio technologies to offer a unique new consumer experience on IPQ-powered smart gateways.”
The companies will be demonstrating FamilyGuard on IPQ-powered smart gateways at the Qualcomm booth, Exhibit #8252 – Central Hall, LVCC, during CES 2015.
