Buckeyes vs. Ducks College Football Championship Tickets in High Demand and Tickets Pronto Adds Additional Inventory to Keep Up with Ducks and Buckeyes Fan Demand
(PRWEB) January 06, 2015 -- Tickets Pronto is offering their exclusive promo code CHAMPIONSHIP for extra savings on tickets for the NCAA College Football Championship at AT&T Stadium.
For the first time, the NCAA football championship will be determined by a playoff. Last week, Oregon trounced Florida State to earn their right to fight for the title, and they were joined later that night by Ohio State, who beat the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide. On January 12, the Oregon Ducks (13-1) and their high-powered offense will take on the Urban Meyer-led Ohio State Buckeyes (13-1) team from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
Ironically, Oregon and Ohio State were the two teams that competed in the inaugural NCAA men’s basketball championship game. That game, held in 1939, saw Oregon win the title with a 46-33 victory. Should the Ducks be able to repeat that championship, they will do so behind the arm of the 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota.
Mariota ran away with the Heisman vote this season. He has thrown for 4,121 yards on the year with 40 touchdowns and just 3 interceptions. He has been just as much of a threat on the ground, adding 731 yards and 15 touchdowns. Should he finish this season with a victory in the championship, he may secure his placement in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Throughout the season, Mariota has been helped on the offensive side of the ball by running back Royce Freeman. Freeman ran the ball 242 times for 1,343 yards and 18 touchdowns and also added 158 receiving yards with an additional score. Mariota has had plenty of targets to throw down field at during the season including Byron Marshall (66 receptions, 834 yards, 5 touchdowns), Devon Allen (41 receptions, 684 yards, 7 touchdowns), and Dwayne Stanford (39 receptions, 578 yards, 6 touchdowns).
After their dominating performance over the Florida State Seminoles, who were riding a 29-game winning streak, many feel the Ducks should win it all, but the Buckeyes, led by J.T. Barrett have other plans. The quarterback threw for 2,834 yards this season with 34 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while also adding 938 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
Also helping to pace the offense for the Buckeyes this season has been running back Ezekiel Elliot. Elliot ran the ball 237 times for 1,632 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes out of the backfield for 221 yards. Barrett has also found comfort in several targets when he drops back including Devin Smith (32 receptions, 886 yards, 12 touchdowns), Michael Thomas (50 receptions, 746 yards, 9 touchdowns), and Jalin Marshall (33 receptions, 447 yards, 6 touchdowns).
This memorable showdown between the top two teams in the country will take place at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The venue has seen some excitement in recent weeks with the success of the Cowboys, but when these two collegiate powerhouse teams play here next Monday night, it will be packed with over 80,000 fans cheering on their favorite team or their alma mater.
