The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, highlights 7 of Whipsaw’s most recent product design.

Whipsaw Inc., the Silicon Valley-based Industrial Design and Engineering firm that creates innovative products for companies around the globe, announces they received 7 GOOD DESIGN™ Awards for Design Excellence. The awards are an initiative of The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN™ remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. For 2014, the Museum received submissions from several thousands of the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from around the world. Together they represent the most important and influential corporations worldwide in the design industry from over 48 countries. All awards and winners can be viewed on the Museum’s website.

The award winning Whipsaw product designs are:

Dropcam Pro - a compact, HD quality, Wi-Fi video camera for monitoring one’s home or business.

Kaleidescape Cinema One - a movie server that stores up to 600 DVD or 100 Blu-ray movies and plays them in the highest audio and video quality possible.

Leitz Icon Labeling System - a wireless, compact and portable label printer to conveniently print labels directly from apps on a smart phone or tablet.

Livescribe 3 - a smartpen that instantly syncs handwritten pen/paper notes to an iPhone or iPad, allowing someone to share digitized notes via e-mail, Microsoft OneNote, Evernote, or other services. The Livescribe 3 also records audio linked to handwritten notes to make them more useful.

Nod - a universal wireless controller worn on your finger like a ring. Pointing and gesturing naturally manipulates content on the smart devices in your connected life.
