Sanfratello’s Famous South Side Chicago Pizzeria Expands to Arizona with Grand Opening Set for January 17, 2015
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 07, 2015 -- Sanfratello’s Pizza, a family-style restaurant that originated in Chicago in the 1960’s, is expanding to the Valley. On January 17, 2015, Sanfratello’s will open its first Arizona location, a take-out and delivery at 857 Warner Rd. in Gilbert, AZ.
Sanfratello’s is well-known for their signature product, a thin crust “party cut” (square cut) style pizza, which boasts fresh meats and cheese which are true to the original recipe and all made in Chicago. The ingredients are imported from Chicago each week to ensure absolute consistency with the beloved Chicago product.
Sanfratello’s is proud to use only all natural ingredients in their dishes which include appetizers, freshly prepared salads, handmade pizzas, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. A mashup of traditional Italian and Chicago styles, the handmade pizzas are made daily with fresh dough and savory sauce made from a recipe that was handed down from their own Sicilian grandmother.
The family prides itself on the use of Scamorza, a higher grade cheese than the ones used by competitors. The cheese is known for its better taste and higher burning point – which makes for perfectly cooked dough every time. Its quality taste and superior cooking properties have made it a favorite of South Chicago and Indiana for over 45 years.
Scott Dunnett, franchisee and long-time fan of Sanfratello’s, decided that Arizona would be a perfect location to expand the business. A former trader at the Chicago Board of Trade, Dunnett grew up playing sports frequenting the best pizzerias in Chicago. However, there has always been one that stood out, Sanfratello’s Pizza, a famous little pizzeria in the small town of Glenwood, Illinois. He decided that this was the piece of home he wanted to bring with him to the Phoenix area when he and his family moved to Arizona in 2012.
"When I learned that the same ingredients could be trucked out here from Chicago several times a week it was a slam dunk”, said Scott Dunnett, franchisee. “Having Joe Sanfratello here helping me launch this first location in Arizona (the fourth location of Sanfratello’s) has been incredible. We look forward to sharing this one of a kind pizza with our valley neighbors!"
Over recent months, Sanfratello’s fans in the valley have been expressing their love and excitement for the famous restaurant on the Sanfratello’s Facebook in anticipation of an old favorite coming to the valley.
On Saturday, January 17 during their grand opening celebration, from 11 am until 1 pm, they will host giveaways (including a chance to win free pizza for an entire year), offer free food samples accompanied by live music provided by School of Rock Gilbert.
A full menu including appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, pizzas and desserts will be announced. Delivery will be available within a 5 mile radius and take-out also available. Hours will be Sunday through Thursday 11 am - 10 pm; Friday and Saturday 11 am-11 pm.
