FacialNetwork, Inc. has been named one of the top 10 finalists in the Extreme Tech Challenge, besting nearly 2,000 applicants from 100 countries in the 2014 edition of the prestigious technology competition.

The Extreme Tech Challenge finalists are recognized as the world’s best emerging tech entrepreneurs and startups by the competition’s esteemed panel of judges and Sir Richard Branson, poised to accelerate growth and achieve at least a $1 billion valuation.

As a top-10 finalist in the Extreme Tech Challenge, FacialNetwork will present live on stage in Las Vegas at 2015 International CES®, the world’s largest consumer electronics show.

FacialNetwork achieved its top-10 status on the strength of its facial recognition apps, the industry’s first real-time facial recognition on wearables and the fastest speeds on smart devices.

“We have made remarkable progress over the past two years and I’m very proud of what we have accomplished,” said Kevin Alan Tussy, CEO of FacialNetwork. “Behind the scenes we’ve already teamed up with of some of the largest tech companies, but we have been waiting for the right opportunity to reveal our latest breakthroughs to the public. Winning a chance to present on stage at CES is a huge honor for us and the perfect opportunity to showcase our new technology.”

FacialNetwork has forged technology partnerships and distribution agreements with tech giants Samsung, Salesforce, InterKnowlogy and Amazon along with research and development collaborations with Baycrest Health, Good2Drive and many more.

Company representatives will make their presentations at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, in the Marco Polo room at the Venetian. Judges include CEA® President Gary Shapiro, Priceline’s Jeff Hoffman, founding partner at Pacific Investments Veronica Serra, venture capitalist and BioHeart founder Howard Leonhardt, and technology evangelist Robert Scoble.

The top three entrants will earn an opportunity to present directly to Branson and other distinguished judges on Necker Island, his exclusive resort in the British Virgin Islands, in February.
