North Shore Eye Care Welcomes Doctors From Across The State to 9th Semi-Annual Continuing Education Symposium
Smithtown, New York (PRWEB) January 10, 2015 -- Long Island’s largest fastest growing comprehensive eye center will host primary eye care doctors from across Long Island as they gather for the 9th Semi-Annual Continuing Education Symposium for Optometrists hosted by North Shore Eye Care, said Jeffrey Martin, MD, medical director and chief surgeon of North Shore Eye Care.
This continuing education program for optometrists is being held this Sunday, January 11 at the Hyatt Regency in Hauppauge, Long Island. Dr. Martin, who will serve as this year’s emcee for the event, will be joined by a distinguished faculty, including: David Immanuel, MD, PhD, John Mauro, DO, F.A.C.S., Lawrence Buono, MD, F.A.C.S., Samuel Baharestani, MD, James Rienzo and keynote speaker, Dr. Murray Fingeret.
“As we continue a tradition of eye care excellence on Long Island that spans more than 52 years, we have always worked in concert with our primary eye care partners across the island,” said Dr. Martin. “In preparation of our 9th semi-annual symposium for optometrists, we remain fully committed to providing our primary eye care partners a professional and convenient way to earn their Continuing Education credits each year,” he said. “This popular symposium is also and excellent way for us to share the latest breakthroughs in cataract removal and lens implantation, laser vision correction techniques, managing glaucoma, triaging infectious or inflammatory eye conditions and the latest advances in oculoplastics.”
Attending optometrists attending this year’s course will receive the latest updates on advances in cataract care, how to diagnose, treat and manage ocular inflammation, a comprehensive course in treating tearing patients, the latest breakthroughs in glaucoma management and an update on recent trends affecting healthcare and optometry. For the first time ever, local optometrists will also observe a ‘live’ BOTOX demonstration by Dr. Baharestani.
“North Shore Eye Care is proud to play an important role in the continuing education of our eye care professionals on Long Island,” said Dr. Martin. “Our goal with our Continuing Education Courses is to simply ensure that our local residents are receiving the highest quality eye care available today from both optometry and ophthalmology practices and gaining access to the same advanced eye care found in major medical centers.”
