Tony Lee Joins HNTB’s Transit Practice to Provide Multimodal Transportation and Environmental Planning

Lee's role at HNTB will include serving as a planning practice builder and resource leader for the firm’s Northeast Division.

Tony has more than 25 years of experience working on some of the most critical issues impacting multimodal transportation needs, such as rail transit, bus rapid transit and roadway improvements.

Anthony “Tony” Lee, AICP, has joined HNTB Corporation as the Northeast Division planning practice leader in the firm’s transit and rail practice. He will be based in the firm’s New York City office.

His role at HNTB will include serving as a planning practice builder and resource leader for the firm’s Northeast Division. Lee will participate in pursuits with planning and environmental components and serve as a resource leader, manager and technical expert on transportation planning and environmental planning/documentation projects.

“Tony has more than 25 years of experience working on some of the most critical issues impacting multimodal transportation needs, such as rail transit, bus rapid transit and roadway improvements,” said Mike Sweeney, PE, HNTB chairman of professional services and senior vice president. “His experience working with Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road and MTA New York City Transit, among others, provides important insights that will be of great value in meeting the evolving transportation needs of the New York City region.”

Lee has an American Institute of Certified Planners designation from the American Planning Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in urban and regional studies from Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning, and a Master of Regional Planning, Community and Economic Development from the University of North Carolina.

In the past 12 months, HNTB has added more than 50 professionals to its rapidly expanding transit practice in the Northeast.
