Legend Group Studios is proud to announce the launch of the YouTube Channel “United States of Comedy.”
This one-of-a-kind new media network, comprised of several diverse micro-channels, will showcase all the different “states” of comedy – from satire and spoofs to live stand-up, alternative, improv, classic TV and everything in between.
The channel will launch this January with the debut of “HOT GIRLS” – the much-anticipated follow-up to director Alberto Belli’s viral success “It’s Not Porn, It’s HBO.” Alberto is an award-winning film, TV, and film director whose work has been featured in The New York Times, Deadline, Entertainment Weekly, US Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, and Ryan Seacrest among many others.
“HOT GIRLS” will be the first in a long line of sharp, relevant, but most importantly HILARIOUS videos on the “US of Comedy” channel. But that’s not all – LGS is taking you back to the roots of comedy as well.
Legend Group Studios has a 50-year pedigree in television as an offshoot of Bob Banner Associates, the longest-running independent television company in the country. Bob Banner’s career is a veritable history of variety television – and therefore COMEDY. As such, LGS controls the largest archive of classic music and comedy content in the country.
So prepare for a blast from the past as Legend Group repackages classic television content from the 50s, 60s, and 70s – comedy that has remained locked in the vaults for the past 30 years will now be available for the first time since it aired. Live performances from the Golden Era of television feature legendary comedians like Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Flip Wilson, Dom Deluise, Ruth Buzzi, Henny Youngman, Jack Benny, Jackie Mason, Minnie Pearl, and Bob Newhart among many others. All presented exclusively on our digital network for the first time since original broadcast on network television.
These vintage classic clips from series such as “The Entertainers,” “The Garry Moore Show,” and “The Jimmy Dean Show” create the roots of American comedy and as such, on our map of the United States, occupy the area where the original colonies were located. As we gather new comedy content, we will head westward in a march of manifest destiny in an effort to build the comprehensive United States of Comedy.
LGS is on the cutting edge of technology as well as comedic content. Shortly after the launch of the channel, the network app will also launch – allowing users to “vote up” their favorite content within the genre-specific micro-channels that will make up the network, democratizing comedy consumption like never before.
