Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Doctors Featured in Maryland Podiatric Medical Association Newsletter
(PRWEB) January 11, 2015 -- Three of Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC (FASMA)’s doctors were mentioned in a recent edition of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association Newsletter. The Maryland Podiatric Medical Association (MPMA) is the professional medical association which represents podiatrists in Maryland and offers sponsorships and meetings to promote the professional interests of its members.
FASMA podiatrist Dr. David J. Freedman (Silver Spring/Olney Division) was featured as the Team Manager for ICD-10 for American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) to give tips and advice to doctors and offices in preparation for the upcoming ICD-10-CM change. Dr. Freedman has been the leader on this topic for the APMA since 2010. Dr. Freedman commented on his experience as Vice-President and Compliance Officer for FASMA: “I have been very involved in preparing on several fronts… We must have software that is Meaningful Use 2014 Certified that can capture ICD-10-CM codes… Also, we are teaching the staff through our monthly webinar series, providing small amounts of critical information and real life examples in short periods of time not to overwhelm everyone this includes not only the support staff but all of our doctors.”
Dr. David J. Levine (Frederick Division) was mentioned as one of the July 2014 MPMA Meeting Award Recipients for 25 years of service.
Dr. Kyle S. Scholnick (Columbia and Kensington Divisions) was chosen to attend the APMA Young Physicians Institute, held on October 10-12 at PICA headquarters in Franklin, TN. Dr. Scholnick was sponsored by MPMA and will report on his experience at the upcoming January 2015 meeting. Dr. Scholnick commented on his experience: “It was refreshing to meet so many enthusiastic and proactive podiatrists of all different experience levels. I had the opportunity to meet some great doctors and connect with the future leaders of our profession. Healthcare will always be changing, but focusing on what we as podiatrists can control within our profession is the most productive step that we can take. Learning to be a leader, connecting with others and understanding and adapting to all the healthcare changes is what the APMA Young Physicians Institute is all about. I am very grateful to have had such an opportunity and I look forward to contributing as much as I can to the MPMA and the APMA for the duration of my career.”
Dr. Nichol Salvo, DPM wrote in to comment on the young doctor’s presence, noting that “Dr. Scholnick provided fresh insight and perspective, and represented Maryland well… [he] made our program better.”
