Astonishing Insight from a Veteran U.S. Intelligence Specialist about The Terrorists Of Iraq
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- Taylor & Francis Group/CRC Press, a leading global science, technology and medicine publisher, is pleased to announce the release of Malcolm W. Nance’s new book, The Terrorists of Iraq: Inside the Strategy and Tactics of the Iraq Insurgency 2003-2014, Second Edition. In this new edition, Mr. Nance provides an unbiased history and analysis of all groups who have demonstrated and used terrorism in Iraq, including the development of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) from al-Qaeda.
The Terrorists of Iraq will help the reader understand who started fighting in the Iraq insurgency, how it has led to the crisis of today, and why. It is a history and analysis of all groups who have demonstrated and used terrorism in Iraq. It is also an analysis of how Iraq fits into the broader Middle East strategy of ISIS & Al Qaeda jihadists. This book will clearly delineate both political and combat strategies that the enemy saw as critical in forcing the United States and coalition forces to withdraw.
“This book is the definitive account of the origins, acts and rise of the most powerful and richest terror groups in history,” explains Author Malcolm Nance. “This book details the origins, organization, personalities, ideology, weapons and tactics of all Iraqi terror groups from before the US invasion of Iraq to their metamorphosis into the Islamic Caliphate which seized large parts of Iraq and Syria and threatens the western world.“
The information revealed in this book comes from official reports from the American coalition headquarters, Defense Department press statements, Iraqi and Arab news media transcripts, attributed works of independent journalists, and analysis of insurgent communiqués. The book also contains Mr. Nance’s personal interviews with participants in the Iraq war and his own observations in and out of Iraq over the past 11 years. With the exception of interviews with captured insurgents, there are no anonymous sources of information.
“Nance’s inclusion of a new chapter on ISIS and its violent origins in the disintegrating state of Iraq and bloody drive to become a 21st century Caliphate is masterful,” says Peter Earnst, founding Executive Director of the International Spy Museum and a 35-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). “He knows the players, their vicious infighting and their brutal methods like few others. To read his analysis is to understand the makeup and the real threat posed by these latest claimants.”
Malcolm W. Nance is a counter-terrorism and intelligence consultant for the U.S. government’s Special Operations, Homeland Security, and Intelligence agencies, with more than 33 years of experience in combating radical extremism. An honorably retired U.S. Navy Arabic-speaking intelligence collections operator, field interrogator, and survival, evasion, resistance and escape specialist, Nance spent two decades on clandestine anti-terrorism and counter-terrorism intelligence operations in the Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa in direct support of the Special Operations and Intelligence communities.
