(AIS) is pleased to announce the full agenda for its upcoming virtual conference, “Medicare Star Ratings: Health Plan Strategies for Improving Quality Performance.” On Jan. 29, participants will get the latest intelligence on Medicare Advantage and Part D star ratings, including changes anticipated for 2016 and what plans can do to ensure successful implementation of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) quality measures, from some of the nation’s foremost star ratings experts.
The sessions are:
- 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: “The Stars Landscape in 2014 and 2015: Preparing for What’s Ahead” —Two executives from consulting firm Gorman Health Group will present a walkthrough of CMS’s planned changes to star ratings measures and methodology for 2016, and provide specifics on how plans should respond.
- 12:45 – 1:45 p.m.: “Measurement, Challenges and Strategies for Improving Medication Adherence Performance and Star Ratings” — A nationally recognized medication adherence and star rating expert, and two experienced health outcomes researchers will present the details of current challenges, identify strategies to tackle medication adherence measures, and offer suggestions for improving overall star ratings performance.
- 2:15 – 3:30 p.m.: “New Strategies to Improve Scores on Challenging Chronic Conditions” — A senior Medicare health plan physician executive and a physician who advises Medicare Advantage plans on stars programs will present creative, effective ways to improve measures related to bladder control, physical activity, mental health and osteoporosis.
- 3:45 – 5:00 p.m.: “Best Practices for Designing Effective MTM Programs and Boosting CMR Participation” — Two consultants share advice on how to design and implement strategies for performing medication therapy management (MTM) services that can show results while not breaking the bank, and how to improve completion rates for comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs), which are slated to move from a display measure to a star ratings measure in 2016.
Additionally, each session will conclude with generous time allocated to answering individual questions.
