The Meadows Sponsoring SavingTeens in Crisis Charity Event
WICKENBURG, ARIZ. (PRWEB) January 13, 2015 -- The Meadows trauma and addiction treatment center is a major supporting sponsor of this year’s SavingTeens Annual Charity Celebration in Nashville, Tenn. on February 4, 2015. SavingTeens In Crisis Collaborative (SavingTeens) is a non-profit organization, which assists struggling youth and their families with both financial and emotional support, so they can receive the treatment they need, but may not be able to afford.
“I have been involved with SavingTeens since its inception; as both a Board member and an advisor,” said Jim Dredge, CEO of The Meadows. “This foundation provides a one-of-a-kind service to struggling teens, and in all cases, represents the one opportunity to move them from a life of despair and dysfunction to one of hope and success.” Dredge goes on to say: “John Ruben, Founder and President of SavingTeens In Crisis Collaborative, and his team are a beacon of light for these struggling teens and their families at a time of darkness. We should all reach out to help this worthy cause.”
Through The Meadows’ sponsorship, Jessica Martindale, a Meadows Workshop Alumni, was connected with SavingTeens to participate in the charitable event. Martindale attended The Meadows’ Survivors Workshop in 2012 when she was 20, and from her experience, she was able to realize her childhood dream of being a singer and pursued it. Today, Martindale is living her dream recording original songs, touring and releasing music videos. Martindale will be sharing her story as well as performing during the event.
“There are two songs in particular—“Go” and “Soon, We’ll Dance”—that capture my journey, said Martindale. “I wrote “Go” as a reminder to myself to live in a place of honesty, and “Soon, We’ll Dance” is about my experience leaving my stable world to pursue my passion.”
"SavingTeens is so grateful that The Meadows introduced us to Jessica Martindale. She is a wonderful spokesperson for the industry with an incredibly big heart. Without the support of The Meadows and Jessica, we could not be hosting this amazing celebration in honor of SavingTeens and the families that we serve,” said Carrie Weatherhead, LCSW, SavingTeens Director of Development.
