"I could stay inside all day with these apps on my phone."

"Intel” was featured on NewsWatch as part of its monthly AppWatch, which features the latest and coolest mobile applications on the iOS, Android, and Windows markets. Andrew Tropeano, a mobile technology expert and host of NewsWatch, conducted the app review and shared with viewers how they can stay entertained during winter months with these apps.

It is hard to believe, but somehow it's already winter. These long cold days will dramatically reduce typical outdoor routines and activities. Luckily, a handful of apps allow users of Intel® Atom™ processor-based Android tablets for people to enjoy their free time, regardless of the forecast.

The first app, Stick Tennis, offers 10 realistic court surfaces from around the world. The app is easy to play, but difficult to master, and features fast and fluid gameplay with a huge range of unique player styles. The player can thump professional style crosscourt winners while tackling the sophisticated physics engine that rewards tactical play. It’s a fun game for tennis lovers but also for anyone who loves, well, fun!

The second app, Pencil Sketch, will easily enhance artistic skills. A user picks a photo from their gallery and generates the sketch in black and white or color. Edits are simple and by using social media, sharing personalized shots from the holidays has never been so easy.

For the third app, users won’t miss a moment with High Speed Camera that takes 40 captures a second. Users can add image effects to their photos or develop your digital scrapbook with the ability to create animated files.

Lastly, there’s nothing like learning about something new to make it through the winter months. With The Night Sky Lite, users can gaze into the night sky and identify stars, planets, galaxies and constellations.

All these applications help people stay entertained while indoors, and many other apps, are featured on the Intel showcase that are also optimized for Intel® Atom™ processor-based tablets for Android.
