The Leadership Pinellas Speaker Series Hosts NFL Star Derrick Brooks for 4th Annual “Leadership in Action” Speaker Series Event
Tampa Bay, FL (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- Providing leadership and communication skills through community and national leaders is a unique avenue to give back to the community, which is why The Leadership Pinellas Speaker Series has added two Tampa Bay area leaders to their line-up this year. On January 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the “Leadership in Action” series will be held at the Margarete Heye Great Room in Ruth Eckerd Hall, located at 1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, FL 33759.
One inspirational speaker at the event will be local NFL player Derrick Brooks. The Hall of Fame recipient will speak about being a “Champion on the Field | Champion in the Community” that evening beginning around 7:00 p.m. Derrick Brooks was a linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for fourteen seasons and earned a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers as well as AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. In 2014, he was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Additionally, Leadership Pinellas alum, Class of 2002, Chief Anthony “Tony” Holloway from the St. Petersburg Police force, will also speak at the series with “Leadership Challenges of New Beginnings.” Overseeing all police operations in Florida’s fifth largest city, Holloway has been in law enforcement since 1985 and was also the Clearwater Chief of Police from 2010 to 2014. With numerous accolades including receiving the Clearwater Bar Association Allen L. Moore Memorial Gold badge twice, Holloway has also sat on the Board of Governors for The Florida Bar since 2012.
Re-established four years ago, the Leadership Pinellas Speaker Series provides members with the opportunity to hear from well-known presenters about timely information and skills that can be used in their own businesses and organizations.
With the entire Tampa area invited, skills about leadership, communication and customer service are presented from national as well as local Tampa Bay area leaders.
Tickets are available for Leadership Alumni at $35 and guests will be $40. Sponsorships are available on registration website. Register for this event at LeadershipPinellas.com/event-calendar/events. Contact Jennifer McGrail for ticket information at (727)-585-8889.
