Smart Electronics/Lark Engineering Boosts RF Engineering Technology with Two New Hires
Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) January 13, 2015 -- Smart Electronics/Lark Engineering, a leading developer and provider of electro-mechanical solutions for high reliability applications in the defense, commercial aerospace and industrial markets, announced the addition of two new hires to the engineering team.
Tekamul Buber, PhD, joined Smart Electronics on December 17th, 2014, as Senior RF Engineering Leader. Tekamul is a PhD level engineer with experience in research, design, development and production and manufacturing in Electrical Engineering and RF/Microwaves. Tekamul will be leading the RF engineering team in developing the company’s RF technology roadmap and will be the leader in advancing the RF technologies of the Lark team of RF Engineers. He will also be spearheading the Smart RFCCA product advancements.
Tekamul is a sharp-minded innovator who previously developed integrated RF/Microwave front end and antenna equipment that significantly reduced product costs, using non-destructive RF/Microwave test and measurement. He is also an award winning patent holder and analytical thinker with industrial and academic experience in not only RF/Microwaves, but electromagnetics, antennas, mathematics, and physics.
“Smart Electronics sought an experienced and talented engineer to lead our RF engineering team,” said Bob Swelgin, president at Smart Electronics and Lark Engineering. “Tekamul’s strong logical thinking and leadership skills will strengthen our team to discover novel solutions for engineering problems by turning obstacles into advantages and motivating the team to cutting edge technologies and discoveries."
Tekamul holds an M.S., Electrical Engineering, B.S., Mathematics, and B.S. Physics from Rheinisch Westphälische Technicsche Hochschule Aachen in Aachen, Germany, as well as a Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of Iowa and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University where he also taught RF Engineering.
Sophak Tol also recently joined the Smart Electronics team as an RF Systems Engineer. Sophak has over 13 years of significant experience in designs and tests electrical, RF, microwave, fiber optics, analog, digital, and power supply circuits at Raytheon amongst other defense companies. Sophak will provide support to ensure that software, mechanical parts and components are successful integrated across hardware systems and will be leading the design and execution of the company’s new test equipment product line.
Sophak is an accomplished, award winning engineer who also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt. During his career, he has conducted trade studies and developed Tx/Rx circuits for aircraft radar and communication systems, as well as coordinated and completed numerous projects that were delivered ahead of schedule with extensive cost savings, reduced production times, and improved delivery times.
“We are very pleased to have Sophak join the Smart Electronics engineering team,” said Bob Swelgin. “Sophak’s commitment to excellence and outstanding project management skills and experience will integrate well with our team and greatly add to its strength.”
Sophak received a B.S., Electrical Engineering from Purdue University Indianapolis, is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed Project Management Professional Training.
